Middle of a mess

I don't know what I was thinking. But this week I have decided to reorganize my studio. Let me rephrase that. My husband came home last week. He decided that since we are sharing a space again that my studio needed to be reorganized.

I don't know what I am doing. I don't know how to set it up to use at home, but still be convenient to take to crops. I love going to crops. But I also am enjoying the scrapping time at home.

What to do? I have all of my paper done and my eyelets and pens. The problem I have is with embellishments. Like stickers, Jolee's, prima's things like that. I had a sticker binder but it was too hard to keep up with. I just need a better system for the things that I have. So, if you have any suggestions. Please let me know. I will show everyone a pick when I get it all done.

Preschool

Today was G's first day of preschool. He was so excited that he wore his back pack all day long. I had to set a timer for how many hours until we had to leave for school. He loved every minute of it.

One of his teachers was his teacher last year. You will see in the picture above two pencil holders. These were our teacher gifts at the end of the year. I made them with 4" coasters. They were covered with paper. Then using the cricut I made the tags and the letters.

I was so pleased to see that on her desk this afternoon when I dropped him off. She said that she is the envy of the Preschool. Who knew that something so simple would be rewarding several months later.

I wonder what I can make this year to top it?

Happy Birthday Baby Boy

Today was my youngest son's birthday. He turned 5, it is hard for me to think that my little baby is getting to be such a big boy. Don't get me wrong I am very glad to be out of the baby stage and the toddler stage. But he is the youngest of three. I will never have another 4 year old. It is just the closing of an age and a beginning of another one.

We had a great time at some friends of ours house. We had a small birthday cake with a few gifts. He will have a big kid party after school starts for him. This will be with all of his friends. He was so excited for it to be his birthday today. He was shouting it out the window as we drove past cars.
It is also my mothers 60th birthday today. My son G had a hard time in grasping the concept of it being someone else birthday. It was his birthday, not her birthday. He finally agreed to share his birthday with her.

G wanted a pirate birthday cake. So I got to making one. I am not saying that I am a master cake decorator, or pastry chef or anything like that. Because trust me I have seen cakes that look better. But I thought this one was pretty cute.

I cut the Pirate, treasure chest and ship out with the cricut using the paper dolls cartridge. They were all cut at 4 inches. That is one thing I love about the Cricut. I can tell it that the boy is 4" and it will cut everything else in proportion to that object. I don't have to do the math or trial and error to get it the right size. Any way enjoy a piece of G's birthday cake.
